How long does the battery last?

6–8 hours off-grid; runs indefinitely on AC, 12V, or a portable power station. The built-in battery provides 6 to 8 hours of runtime under typical use. For longer sessions, plug into any standard AC outlet using the included wall charger, or use the included 12V cable to run from your vehicle's power port or a compatible portable power station such as a Jackery, EcoFlow, or Bluetti.

Do I need to set up a Starlink account?

No — the kit arrives fully activated. No account, no app, no credentials needed. The Uplink WiFi kit ships on an existing Starlink service plan. Open the case, extend the dish, aim it at an open patch of sky, and power on. A WiFi network appears within a few minutes.

Yes — Starlink works in national parks and remote wilderness with zero cell service. Coverage is generally excellent in rural and backcountry areas across the continental United States, which is exactly what the Starlink low-earth-orbit network is designed for. Do you ship nationwide?

Yes — all 48 contiguous US states via FedEx or UPS, 2–3 business days standard. Expedited overnight shipping is available for an additional fee. We also offer same-day local pickup and delivery throughout Los Angeles County and Southern California. A prepaid return label is included with every shipped rental.

Can I pick it up in Los Angeles?

Yes — local pickup and same-day delivery available throughout LA County and surrounding areas. We also deliver to Orange County, Ventura County, and the Inland Empire. Contact us to arrange a pickup time or local delivery window. Local delivery avoids the shipping wait and is useful for last-minute bookings, production schedule changes, and emergency response situations.

What if it rains?

The dish is weather-resistant and designed for outdoor use — rain rarely causes a full outage. The Starlink Mini dish handles rain, wind, and moderate weather conditions. The carry case is water- and impact-resistant. Heavy precipitation can temporarily reduce signal quality but rarely interrupts the connection entirely. Avoid submerging the dish or leaving it in standing water.

Do I need a clear view of the sky?

Yes — an unobstructed 100-degree cone above the horizon is ideal. Dense tree cover, buildings, canyon walls, or overhangs can block the signal. The free Starlink app includes an obstruction checker you can use to evaluate your location before your trip. No Starlink account is required to use the checker — it works on any smartphone.

What happens if it's damaged?

A refundable damage deposit is required; returned undamaged means full refund. If the kit is returned in the same condition it was sent, the deposit is fully refunded. Damage beyond normal wear, or loss of the kit, will be assessed against the deposit. Full terms are in the rental agreement you'll sign before your rental begins.

Is there a minimum rental period?

One day minimum at $75 — no maximum. There is no maximum rental period; rent for as many days as your project requires. Day count starts when the kit ships and ends when it's returned to the carrier, so plan for transit days on each end if you're shipping rather than picking up locally.

3–5 business days for shipping; same-day often possible in Los Angeles. For time-sensitive or last-minute needs in the LA area, contact us directly — same-day local delivery is frequently available. Can I extend my rental?

Yes — contact us before your rental ends and we'll extend at the same $75/day rate, subject to availability. If you know you may need more time, it's easiest to book extra days upfront rather than extending mid-rental. Extensions are billed at the same daily rate with no penalty.

Do you rent to film productions?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we regularly supply productions for location shoots, base camp, dailies, and video village. Uplink WiFi accommodates multi-kit orders, flexible shoot-day billing, and last-minute requests in the Los Angeles area. The rental is a clear per-day production expense. Is it allowed on airplanes?

Yes as checked or carry-on baggage — cannot be used in-flight; works normally on arrival. The Starlink Mini dish and router are permitted on commercial flights. The internal lithium battery must comply with airline battery regulations — check with your carrier before flying. The kit operates normally once you land at your destination.

Starlink wins on coverage and data; hotspots win on instant setup in cities. Cellular hotspots depend on nearby towers and throttle to 600 Kbps–3 Mbps after 15–50GB of high-speed data. Starlink delivers 25–100+ Mbps with no data cap anywhere with a sky view — including national parks, deserts, and remote job sites where hotspots have no signal at all. For urban use with strong LTE or 5G, a hotspot may be sufficient.

What is the cancellation policy?

Can I use it outside the United States?

The rental kit is for US use only; international shipping is not available. Uplink WiFi ships to all 48 contiguous US states. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US territories, and international destinations is not currently available. The Starlink service plan on the rental kit is configured for domestic US use.

Can I connect a device via Ethernet instead of WiFi?
